Apologies in advance for not having read through the entire post before responding, but I had an intermittent dying problem a few years back that was traceable to a failed -- and I mean corroded completely through -- battery cable. It was the lead running from the battery down across the front subframe to the starter. You might want to do a thorough check of all of your battery cables and grounds if you have not already done so.

+1 E Showell. Exactly my thought when I saw this. What I call Evil Grounds came to mind. This post contains a link to a diagram of all the grounds in that car—one of which one tech claims causes 90% of all erratic problems. Good luck.

I will review the above link tonight. Thanks for the info.
Today my car died when I pulled into a parking lot and these are the lights on the dash every time it dies (not that it is indicative of anything).

I will check codes tonight as well.

PS my light bulb indicator is indeed legit due to having the hatch door top panel light out at the moment.

Not sure why my pics post upside down on here (when I upload the pic on the mobile site, it appears right side up). Sorry.

Okay, I cleared the codes and 7 codes are still popping up.

PO722 is gone now (output speed circuit no signal).
PO455 is new (EVAP emission control system leak LARGE) oops, what did I do? :o

The old codes are still present:
P1633
PO442
P1618
PO238
PO236
P1238

What's a girl to do now?

Thanks,
Amy

Okay - we got a full house of codes here...

1. P1633 - ECM intermittent communication fault
2. PO442 EVAP leak diagnostic, permanent minor fault
3. P1618 DIagnostic Trouble code in another Module (transmission maybe??)
4. PO238 Boost pressure sensor too high, permanent
5. PO236 Atmospheric pressure sensor range check faulty signal
6. P1238 Turbo control system fault - flow too high
7 P0999 Driver has a bump

I want one of the real experts like Lee, Mike, Justin to confirm my thoughts below before you act on them..

Lets put Codes 1, 3 together - I suspect your transmission control unit (TCU) has codes which only VIDA can read - ergo your upshift light and perhaps the comm problem. I need help on this one.

I suspect codes 4,5,6 are all one thing - a bad atmospheric sensor reporting bad pressure readings to the ECU. Ill try find diagnostic info on this.

Code 2 is probably a loose or split hose in the EVAP system, perhaps a new purge valve is needed.

Code 7 requires your sole continued attention by your SO..... :D

Thanks for the response. I will hold off doing anything further until we hear some feedback.
I will add that my car is dying consistently at stops. If I put it in PARK at a stop light and rev the engine, it's fine. If I leave it in drive and have my foot on brake, it dies after 10 seconds or so. I have to keep it above 1000 rpms to keep it alive.
That's the brunt of my car problem.

Thanks,
Amy
