Does V70 year 1998 also need PIN for remote control programming? It has receiver which has a large number "4" on up left corner - not number "5", as the -99 and -20 have.

Its got remote control for doors only, but that is not connected to immobilizer, obviously, or how it is?

My friend has that -98 and it is loosing its ability to catch the signal. Is it possible to solve the issue with a secondhand receiver and to program keys to it with "850-OBD" Or does it accept that second hand receiver at all?

Edit: I rrplaced the receiver to another Volbo Mk1 year 2000 and coded keys suv esfully with 850 OBD-II. So the receiver is easy to replace.

If I have to swap the instrument cluster for V70 P1 year 2000, can I get the kilometres set to be originals with the 850 OBD-II?

Sacré bleu! I am slow notice sometimes.

Yes all 70 series requires PIN for remote programming as they have VGLA module unlike 850 series.

---

I dont yet support odometer programming via App due misuse it can cause too easily but i understand the request.

850 OBD-II works fine. It found me the PIN-code for V70 year 2000, but however, I did not manage to program new remote controllers. It looks like it does not "hear" the signal during that 10 seconds....

There is error code in alarm; one window wire is cut. Could that be the reason for not getting remote controller coded?

It looks to have two FOB's programmed, but they do not work.

What could you recommend to do? Is it the issue on that receiver or in main box?

Edit: Me Stupid! I had not checked the remote controllers; and did not know that they had no battery! All worked perfectly and fluently when batteries were instalked into FOBs.

Hello, I got the 850 OBD app and a dual PCB PIC18F based ELM adapter, I'm wondering if these "BUS INIT" errors are due to bad ELM or car issue, I'm trying to figure out why my guage cluster isn't working. Some functions work totally fine (module scanning and clearing seems to work fine) but other functions like guage test and reset SRI seem to not work.

Not sure if I should suspect the ELM or the car

This is running gauge test, can see the error

This is running SRI Reset, same issue

This is running a module code clear, can see some success and some error with bus commands.

I am hoping to see if I'm simply doing something wrong or if there is a fault with my ELM, car or maybe even app.
I am suspect of the car itself because of the strange cluster problems, But I'm not sure.
It's a 1998 Volvo S70 i5 N/A model. Any advice would be appreciated!

Does it msnage to get any complicated data out e.g. PIN-code for key programming purposes? Or it only can do some simple things?

Hi! Came here answer as got email  Thanks for log.

Well it seems yes most issue is coming what i see from gauge cluster not talking back (address 51 -- BUS INIT failing which is done by ELM adapter dongle -- their quality of K line communication varies but mostly are okay) so it mostly wont make those commands work too.

There are possible scenario where some K line module can make noise or bring down K line too but if its just cluster not responding i would want hear what are symptoms of bad cluster? How it behaves? If it cannot power up it cannot talk either. I though i will send you manual command to say "hi" slowly to see if it ever responds in email to try.

I have had one 70 Series COMBI (P80 gauge cluster) on my bench now for a week.

There is issues with App current version example was it P2 platform EDC15C ECM? returning in Standard OBDII responses when specific commands were not supported the App did show annoying pop up when nothing was wrong actually.. but not issues related to this for now.

I've made a thread with me diagnosing the problem viewtopic.php?t=107803

But the rundown is the cluster partially works, with temp and fuel gauge working, But RPM and Speedo dead. And cluster thinks ABS is faulty when it isn't causing "------" odometer. (ABS has no fault codes and works correctly in test)

Last night i finally cracked the code. And no its not anyway shape similar to VGLA process.

They encrypted PIN better than alarm box so roughly two weeks right after work hours while being high on sugar to figure it out step by step progress until today now we are here and tested and ready to publish very soon through with an update which brings finally what even Volvo once again cannot deliver.

.. plus sneak peak of new Live Data Graph at the end

A PIN code reader for P80 70 series COMBI to Activate Trip Meter.

Edit: Phew took longer than i liked.. fixing older android UI to look more like newer Android with Day/night support and Graph scale size in different size screens more like correctly. Uploading to Google currently update.
Edit2: Now update is out and may all 70 series have their Trip Meters Activated!
Edit3: There was error which rendered App not able open on Android 9-15 versions (i just happened to have Android 6 and 16 as test phones) but thanks for all instant feedback now Google has to be approved updated version which i fixed today through and tested on emulation of those versions. (They lacked exactly one window mode which i had set as example additionally did simplify all to use same theme instead two different)
