Speaking of Volkswagen products, I did the simplest procedure Saturday on my A4 Audi - changing an O2 sensor. Came right out of the exhaust downpipe, no issue. But the wiring drops down behind the back of the engine, against the firewall, above the transaxle.... and vanishes. Couldn't find the plug-in end, couldn't trace the wires going to wiring cable bundles, argh! Now I remember why I don't like working on this thing - the complexity of systems, the crazy packaging so you can't reach anything, taking off four systems to replace the fifth one...

I put this engine in and replaced nearly every single external hose / pipe / sensor / fitting 30,000 miles ago, but I couldn't see where this one went with everything in place and no light. Then I was laying across the top of the engine and reaching down the firewall, and put my weight on things and broke several plastic fittings. I finally found the plug itself, just cut the cable so I could pull it out from both sides, and made my own new route with zip-ties. At least it runs.

I have had windows fall down on V70, Mercedes E320, but never that I remember on a 240 Volvo.

Stop the presses. This was factory. Nick! Did you know this? I know 70s cars are a little later than your wheelhouse, but this is amazing.

This is, without a doubt, one of the most American things ever.

I've never seen/heard of retractable t-tops on a Cadillac before. I didn't know Cadillac ever entertained the idea of any kind of t-tops.

Some cars from the 70s are ok, but I'm more into the 50s and 60s. (I've liked the GM g-body cars, 1978 to 1988, ever since I was a kid, but the prices of them now are ridiculously high.)
