Thanks! Although it wasn’t the most elegant way to do it, I snipped the old connector, pulled out the wires from below, ran the new connector up through the secondary access panel and then scooted the wires back toward the correct position.

The sensors took a bit of wrangling to get loose, as there was a lot of crud in there. I cleaned out the opening with brake cleaner and a rag, and the new ones went in easily.

Pressure washed the engine after removing the air box, IAC, and distributor in prep for changing the TPS. I got the TPS changed but was still getting into grease, as I find it's very difficult to clean in that area due to the angle. The screw towards the timing belt for the TPS is very difficult to get back in as everything seems to be in the way of me getting my hand in there. It's in, but the engine is not back together yet, so I didn't run it, and verify the fix. I ran out of light. I've got new spark plug cables, and a new cap to go back in, and I'm cleaning the airbox.

I used a shop vac to pull the water out of the plug wells, and finished the job off with compressed air.

If you've bee reading my thread on the ABS module, you'll know that I suddenly had drivability issues after breaking the screws free on the module. I graphed the TPS voltage along with RPM, and could see the TPS voltage spike when it shouldn't.

Is the flaky tan grease inside the connectors factory? It reminds me of the crappy grease GM put in the taillight connectors on my truck. I rinsed it out with contact cleaner as best as I could on both the TPS and IAC connectors.

Yes, that grease is factory. Obviously it hasn't aged well... I always try to clean that out when I have connectors apart. It could certainly cause connection issues.

Couldnt find an engine for my V70, so I bought a parts car.
Kinda liked how comfortable on the way home and it's nicely specced (red C70 LPT auto with the fancy audio stuff, sunroof...), now I dont wanna part it out.
Welp, another project

Yeah, I've done that a few times. My E46 was supposed to be a part out... then I put an engine in it, manual swapped it, and now it's become my fun beat around car. Springs are on the way for it right now!

We crossed paths in CT , both of us on tight schedules , and this couldn’t meet. We shook our CIA tails, and I dropped parts in a safe and secure location.

It's a problem when your parts car is more comfortable than your daily driver. Remind me never to get a parts car because this will surely be true.

Kinda my fault for putting the daily driver on coilovers haha, and the C70 has 192 000km on the clock when my V70 has 359 000 !

Just gave it a quick wash, I'm surprised at how bad the paint fade and clear coat damage are. Is Coral red known to have issues with that ?

hi it seems to me red colour paint suffers more from uv damage esp all the ones ive owned, opel ascona bought for fifty english pounds and less than 50000 miles and due to being parked half under cover the front paintwork was perfect not a mark and laquer intact, the back end had severe paint cancer!
my current 855 is similar and esp the bonnet and roof are awful, mostly the laquer the basecoat is mostly intact but ive yet to figure a way to just remove the laquer!
peugeot 406 again red again scabby as hell! good luck woth yours
