Solved my running out of gas problem by replacing throttle body.

However, victory was mine….thanks to Glenn!!

Also, 5 minute banjo bolt on the intake manifold

Pcv attached
Coolant bleed hose not attached
IM threaded on fuel line

Lift IM, prop it up, thread banjo

17 mm to tighten
Seat IM
Attach coolant hose
Double check that vacuum line didn’t pull off PCV. Can be attached with forcep through IM

As the AWD P80 parts have been going NLA for about 10 years now, since I bought the V70R around then, I have started to stockpile parts specific to the 'R' or AWD versions. Not all new but good used parts. ETM/TCU/ECU all from a 2000 R, rear brake back plates, and many other parts that I may never need. Also started stocking up on parts for regular P80's now as well. Might need to move to a larger garage!!

The advantage of collecting all these parts is that sometimes, where I have duplicates, I can help out others hopefully.

Neil.

Ordered a 4 camera system from china. Hoping to setup a 4.3 inch display with a rear, sides, and a front camera hooked to a switch in one of the open ports by the steering wheel. Screen to be mounted at top of windshield on drivers side. Should help with clearances and knowing how far one is from a tree and a tight parking spot. Will post the results once parts come in and if they all work. It looks like its an NTSC modulation across a component video cable so noise may be an issue but we will see. Will wire it to the accessory relay protected by the 30 amp fuse. Total current draw should be 1-2 amps max. Will switch through a relay hooked to the cigarette port.

Added refrigerant to the AC. I didn't see a high side port, and Google told me that there isn't one, so my uncle and I only had the low side, a chart, and thermometer to go by. He did most of the work as it's something he's done quite a bit. The air temp in the vents is in the low to mid 40's (F), now and the compressor isn't cycling on/off all the time now. He did say that it looks like it already has dye in it.

If you can get 35-40F of delta with the system on recirc, fanspeed 3,engine at 1500 rpm, that’s working great!

Engine was at idle, while adding refrigerant. Did we miss a Volvo specified procedure?

No, adding at idle is fine. An experienced AC tech, not me, can add to the correct fill by feel almost. Others like me either charge by Mass from full evacuation ( sounds very Catholic) or , since mycars mostly take 750g full charge, put in 2 cans x 340g.

A 680g charge is perfect for a hot climate but in cold climates we want to be on the slight high side to prevent evap freeze up. To add this additional 50-100g , we use the temperature delta as measure of performance

The p80 Volvo compressor doesn’t reach full capacity until engine speed is about 1500 rpm. Stick a thermometer in the center vent

Engine 1500 rpm
Recirc mode
Fan 3
Windows closed
Blue dot MAX AC
15 minute runtime

Test criteria…delta is temperaturebetween cabin start point and end of 15 minute run

25F delta ..stuff is getting old , still a comfy car in summer
30F …Decent, no complaints from the family
35F …really nice in hottest weather
40F …smashing performance
45F ,….fantastic and b/postworthy

I thank jimmy57 for schooling us in Volvo P80 AC here years ago

Lol, Catholic!

I didn't want to go to the extent of pulling a vacuum since it was a working system, other than the compressor cycling too much. I've been using it on humid days.
