In comparison, my BMWs require about 2 minutes to add a remote. Key on/off and press some buttons, key fob is working. Programming the key is also an easy process with the right tool. Why Volvo couldn't have done that, I have no idea.
Sergey can do your keys for cheap. My indie Volvo only charges me $40 for a key plus programming if I leave th e car with him and ride on someone else’s key job.

I just discovered my fuel door lock actually works. I don't know if I never tried opening it with the doors/trunk locked, or if it suddenly started working. I'll have to look into the details of bypassing that just in case it stops working while locked. I do have a few other things that work and then don't.... the backlight for the digital display on the dash once lit up for a day or two, and the light around the cigarette lighter flashes all the time.

It's crazy that the Volvo dealers don't even know so much of this stuff, I had that issue when I needed to do a software download for the steering column lock on my old S40. The two dealers I talked to had absolutely no idea what I meant by "software download" or VIDA. It's no wonder why neither dealer is very popular with the local Volvo community!

When I asked about a second key and remote for the 03 S80 T6, service dept. told me their hands were tied and limited to what they have to offer in terms of the work. They are basically an intermediary for the transfer of data and know little else.

There should be a little stiff wire pull that you access from the trunk to release the fuel door. I can't remember if you can just get to it from the rear tail light access panel or not. I think so.

Sveedy is correct. There is a manual over-ride on the 850, a useful feature they dropped on the S/V 70's from 98-00. You just remove the taillight cover on the RHS and there should be the small pull loop that manually releases the fuel filler cover. I modified a V70 one using the wire from an 850 due to issues with cold weather. I still believe the issue is not the release motor on these but more likely on the V/S70's the door wiring harness where it leaves the 'A' pillar and goes into the door. Can't recall where the 850 flap release is.

When near by local Volvo Dealership was still open when i visited first time there.. all sales prep were inside cubicle and boss being angry over something or it sounded like that.. i was rolling my eyes with some other customer who was sitting there and smiling.

I got now when i asked Verlog codes etc picture they don't even have manuals even how use their old Volvo System Tester or make people known how to use it anymore so its i think phasing out completely by from their service manager guy.

DiCE should be still in use but they have Ethernet dongle on newer cars already or some sort when i did last week check what were requirements for official Vida.

At least haven't been as stupid feeling when i went once local home depot kind of big store and ask do they have plexiglass hoaning (or what ever make shine again stuff).. sales guy went completely numb..
"what is plexiglass?"
Me: "Acrylic glass?"..
Sale: "does it exist?"
Me: "Plastic glass.. its like used glass but made from plastic"..
Sale: "i don't know *proceeds ask next sale person and she doesn't know either or is confused how this guy asks from her*
.. i walked like where i am living at or am i totally idiot now.. had to google did i even use correct words afterwards. :?

Discovered that my '97 T5 has a leaking radiator. The "Low coolant" light came on, and when I popped the hood to investigate, I found it leaking between the core and the end tank on the pass side. Not a huge leak, so no worries of overheating before I got home, but it's going to be parked until I get the replacement in.

Checking the repair log, we haven't replaced the radiator in this thing since we bought it back in the summer of '17, so it's anyone's guess how old it is.
Seeing as my spare I had went into the wife's car this past X-mas, looks like it's time to buy a new one.

I did mine in 2013 and again in 2018, because I didn’t firmly attach the radiator into the frame and it got loose. Used the Nissens from FCP, it fits well.

The nissens does not have the steel inserts into the main radiator ports. $150

The Volvo OE ( made by Valeo) does….$350
