Picked this up on Feb 14,2010. At the time it had a little over 100k miles on it. Now, well, now I'm not sure. Odometer broke shortly there after..hehe.. It needs some work...okay, more like a lot. But I love it and its mine. Only once has it left me stranded, and even then, it was my fault really. Should have checked the spare tire when I bought it...

Sad, but true...the result of a 16 year old and a three week old license. Fortunately we bought a parts car too, since I have a 240 wagon. Pieced this one back together and she ended up selling it for $800! No engine damage at all, and looked pretty good!

A few months later, however, she wrecked my wagon. Thank God for Volvo safety and that parts car! My wagon looks and runs like new (parts car was the same color...baby blue) Got the A/C fixed and a new stereo too. Sweet!

Congrats on the cross country trip! I did it with my family a few years back. I am hoping to take my V70 Cross Country across the country someday!!

Here's the '97 850. Bought her with $1000. She had 120k on her when purchased, now has close to 160k. Great car...period.

Here's my baby. Its a 96 850 NA that I bought for 500$. It has about 150k miles on it. (The odometer stopped working 6 months ago) The previous owner abused and neglected this car beyond belief. The front tires were bald around the outside edge, and the rears had belt showing on the inside edge. (It turns out that the P.O. didn't feel like rotating them. Ever.) He also couldn't tell me when the oil had last been changed. It hadn't been washed in years, and the interior was trashed. The leather on both front seats is dried and cracked, and on the drivers seat bottom the leather was torn to shreds. Now, with that said, when i checked the fluids, I was in for a shock. The oil level was perfect. The ATF didn't smell burnt and was at the correct level as was all of the other fluids. The AC is ice cold, every single powered item works flawlessly- ie; windows, mirrors, seat warmers, interior and exterior lights, etc.. If this isn't a testament to the ruggedness of these cars, I don't know what is. The only major maintenance this car needs is a new timing belt (I highly doubt the P.O. had it done) and the CV joints, which clack in protest when I make a sharp turn. There are some minor issues like squeaky spring seats in the front and rattling coming from the rear suspension. The cruise control doesn't work but that should be an easy fix. All in all, I think i got the deal of the century. A little Moble 1 and some TLC and I'll have a great car.

I have a stock photo for now, but this is my newly aquired '93 850 in the condition I intend to return it. Same everything.
It was passed to me from a friend for cheap and needs some attention, so I'm glad I've found a forum to assist me in this venture.
