On 240s, there is something like 7 hours of shop-time for replacing heater core, and aftermarket heater cores are less than $100.00.

You can respond in the maintenance section now!?? Even online the genuine Volvo heater core lists for nearly $500 and can be had in the neighborhood of $400, so $500 for the part with lifetime warranty I didn't think was bad. Labor rates are just high anywhere around here. I simply can't do it myself and I am not about to let just anyone touch my Volvo, or use aftermarket junk on her.

Really I only keep this record here to let those being ripped off by a indie or a bad dealer, what they should pay for genuine service. It is just too much work to add to the thread the pile of oil change tickets from 12/23/03 in service date to 1st timing belt 3/2016 109k which was the cars first real repair. June

Car had lost 5 mpg on average lately. Also the rubber charge tube was looking gimpy. And the boost psi was running high. Also engine power was inconsistent. Below is the repair ticket. Something replaced really made a huge difference. June

Drove the car to South Florida and A/C still malfunctioning. At my insistence the expansion valve was replaced. Now A/C works normally once again. June

12/16/2019 dropped off 12/23/2019 picked up. I received delivery of the car 12/23/2003 so I got her back on her sweet 16th birthday!

Had a check engine light on for four days then went off last month, had a one time thump in the front end resulting in car loosing alignment, oil change, car slow to warm on cold days. Also needed car ready to run down South Florida to be with my daughter for Christmas. Attached is the repair ticket. June
