Here you go. This is from about an hour ago. Hey a 1hr photo! I cant daily drive it until I get that clockspring installed. Current one is bad.

Mid February, in the driveway, in the rain. An heroic effort. Congratulations; this fix should get you some extra points here.

No Joke but praise. Takes quite a bit of fortitude and enthusiasm to brave the cold and wet to do that much work. This is my first winter where I didn't bundle up and work in the garage or in the driveway. Getting old.

+1 on that! I am fortunate to have a heated garage, but then with winters up here working outside is just nuts as it gets way too cold. The fact you did all that work in that weather and in the dark is really impressive!

Now it's it just funny that Volvo thinks the best way to mount the car horns is pointing DOWN at the GROUND ???
No wonder why my horn sounds like a little old Polynesian lady farting.

That's so they won't fill up with water, I expect. That's the way I see most horns mounted. although if further back in the engine compartment they're not quite straight down.

Yesterday 1/13/23- I reinstalled the hL wiper motors, removed 1 factory horn, then installed a Wolo low tone horn, and both headlights onto the core support. I installed the core assembly on the car. I installed the radiator fan and fan control relay. I connected all wiring harnesses except horns. I rewired the horn wires to accept both an aftermarket and factory horn. This easy-to-swap setup can accept 2 factory OR 2 afm OR 1 factory and 1 afm horn. I installed the turn signals. I installed the original metal bumper. Finally, I ripped the red v70 down west main st and then down east main st. I smiled lots while ripping it across town. I enjoyed it. Thats what I did on Monday.

Thats how they are on all cars that I have seen. When I tilted them very much to the side on both my Honda and volvo, they dont work right. I HIGHLY recommend buying Wolo low tone and/or high tone horn to replace those farts and I know exactly what sound you are talking about. Actually, how do you know what an old Polynesian woman farting sounds like? You slept in a thin-walled hotel?

Oh no I just walked out and took a picture to show the progress I made. I did all the work the night before or night before that. And it has been between 55F and 64F mostly with a few cold days here and there. Today was a high of 77F and tomorrow will be a high of 45F. I HATE OKLAHOMA WEATHER.

I want a wintery winter and a summer/fall with less humidity. I once again told my parents that I want to move to Wyoming. And they told me I have a new fixation (obsession). Ive occasionally mentioned this for the last 1 1/2 years. I am going to take a road trip to Wyoming and Wisconsin this year sometime. Anyway I am putting serious thought into moving to Wyoming before NEXT summer.

It was not cold but I do like working during afternoon and evening up until 10-11pm. This was an adventure! I enjoyed all except finding out that the 21&26mm couplings to the ac drier were stuck together. The 99 donor had a decent unrusted drier, but the one on the red v70 was rusted just like so many other things. It was bought new in Ohio.

Drier is one of the worlds wonders. Like I wonder if this will every come apart or have the 2 parts welded the dissimilar metals together?

I don't envy you on that one, as especially, who has a 26mm wrench (actually I probably do.......Hm....!?).

Yes that's a good point and the sound probably bounces off the road surface. So really it's the horns themselves which sound more like a musical instrument than a warning sign. You could just imagine someone on stage saying, "beep beep", in a very very low volume, medium pitched voice. Never had a horn that milky mild before.

Yeah they are so dim sounding i think i would rather just yell out the window, "BEEP BEEP" ha ha.
