Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
I finally looked at the parts diagrams in VIDA today. It's amazing to see all of the information complete. For years, I've been dealing with 80% complete info on usparts.volvocars.com which omits many discontinued parts. That site seems to have dropped to 70% complete in 2023, omitting more NLA stuff. It's refreshing to see the complete list of parts and all variations in VIDA. Really feels like I've leveled up.

I agree on stale bimbo stuff and Im not just referring to food. Man, around here the roads, education, that green green (is it okay to specify the literal word on here, Matthew?), you name it! Although recently I have seen the INT (375) get redone, as well as 3E/W and 271. Will they ever fix the border bridge?! Ive heard the school system is suppose to see a reform. Dunno. My mom is an Epic teacher and the Epic roster is growing because parents are pulling children out to join the online 'homeschool' trend.volvolugnut wrote: ↑23 Jun 2023, 14:32Wish I could get good bagels here. All we have are stale Bimbo Bakery things that are called bagels.abscate wrote: ↑23 Jun 2023, 08:45 Blew the repaired fuel hose off the junction from the fuel filter...again....
Thanked Kat for taking me 140 miles to Manhattan and back , then failing hose 1/4 mile from garage. Walked home, got P2, got bagels, put in toaster, went back and hard-towed Kat back home
Roughed up NiCopp line, JB weld, and double FI clamped it this time like others. tight access. Used old radiator hose to chafe relief the clamps on the fuel filler neck.

Tonight I spent about 1.5 hours installing the Dolby CPU, sc901 head, dash, center speaker with wiring. I took it for a test drive just 20min ago. I chose a song that I have not listened to in about 10 years in order to test the limits of the center speaker and my awesome Skar tweeters. I turned it UP. I was really flying outside of town and the oncoming vehicle flashed me. Lol was a deputy warning me. I came up to the turn-around point to do a drift. That was cancelled fast when I saw another deputy posted up in my headlights. Safe to say, I did not drift. However, I did give it some juice. You can tell Im tired when I put my drama and emotion into these posts. LOL And tonight I discovered that the sc901 does indeed sound better than the sc811. I would not install an sc901 in a 960 though. Definitely keep it stock with the sc811. If you are advanced enough that you appreciate classical music, the sc811 is for you (like me). I have come to the point of hating 99.99% of music because it really is pointless garbage, including 95% of so-called 'Christian' music and the song I used to test those speakers- Just Dance by Lady Gaga. I have 80% classical and 20% Christian music. I also have tens of hours of John MacArthur, RC Sproul, and other sermons at my whim.

There's a good classic hits station here in Charlotte that I used to listen to all the time, but the music just became repetitive (as FM radio does). They're still independent, which is impressive now considering IHeartRadio owns pretty much all of FM radio.
My CD changers are loaded with Survivor, Journey, and REO Speedwagon. I'm probably the only 24 year old rolling around blasting Survivor
. Easily one of the most painfully ignored/underrated bands ever.

Since the V70 is still out of commission pending a settlement from NTB...
Been working on my "free" Subaru forester. I've already spent way more keeping this car on the road in the past 6 months than probably what I spent on the lifetime of my S70 (not counting oil and tires). I've really gained a new appreciation for these cars. The thoughtful design and ease of serviceability is incredible compared to literally anything else made since the 90s. These cars are so worth keeping on the road even as the '93 850s hit 30.
If you like doing your own work, hold on to your P80s. Whatever the cost of parts, you are saving yourself from new(er) car hell.
Side note: Don't buy a Subaru unless you like spending money, throwing tools, and paying someone else 3x what it should cost to fix it.

What year is it? I've had a few Subarus, I quite like working on them. That said, it depends which Subaru... I've had mid to late 2000s Legacy and Outbacks.WhatAmIDoing wrote: ↑24 Jun 2023, 11:29 Since the V70 is still out of commission pending a settlement from NTB...Been working on my "free" Subaru forester. It's a 2010 Forester. The parts are too expensive, and every time I try to fix something I want to fly to Japan and punch an engineer.bmdubya1198 wrote: ↑24 Jun 2023, 14:06What year is it?
