Hmm, doublebug, can you please help me reload the ETM SW? Think I have the right equipment now.

Hi folks! New here but i have followed this forum for years with great pleasure. Now i need your help, And i think doublebug is the man to answer it.

My car is a V70 2002 automatic with the B5244S engine. When i bought it it had a bad ETM throttle body so i bought a new one online and the car runs but it´s not idling as smooth as i want. So i hooked up my VIDA dice and made a ETM test. And here is my question, shouldn't the number 1 and 2 software numbers match each other? Hope you can help me with this.

hi!

i'm new to this forum, actually i don't know too much about cars, but i have a very good friend who has several volvos, older models, around 1998.

he has this etm issue, bought a new one from volvo, but it comes without firmware. they want to charge him for uploading the fw.

as this guy knows absolutely nothing about electronics and coding, he asked me to help transferring the fw from the old etm to the new one. i'm a hobby electronist and embedded coder, also design pcbs, etc. so, probably i could figure it out. i saw @doublebug mentioned several times on the forum:

"find someone with DiCE and I will transfer software from old to new."

ok. we already have vida and dice. could you please give me some step by step instructions as for a complete beginner, how to do this? also, beside dice, old etm, new etm, laptop, what else do i need?

tyia!

Hello!

Same problem here.
First just faulty signal, but now faulty current. 2001 T5.
My S60 has 200 000 miles on it, but I dont want to give up just yet :D

I like to fix my cars, and this is so far the most challenging case ever. My options:
1. Go local dealer and pay 700€ to get it fixed
2. Order some used ETM from Sweden with 150€ and it might need programming.
3. Buy China version of ETM with 250€ and test my luck. Programming needed.

I am really struggling with these part numbers. 8644347 is same always, but that AH 0012381.C has different letter in the end (D or E). Does anyone know what is that last letter? Is it just revision for newer ETM?

Another problem is that should I replace my 18 year old ETM with another 18 year old ETM? Will it be busted soon too? What do you think guys?

My software is 0030785180 A and I will try to contact doublebug if programming is needed.
I have VIDA: https://photos.app.goo.gl/YBbn3nyT2raerzTD9

Thanks already!

Got my ETM replaced but it needs software being copied. Got a Dice.
