Oil change Saturday as well as a failed attempt to replace the dipstick tube. Somehow I ordered the wrong one. In any event the photo is good stuff... It shows the length difference between the old style and the new. I believe my only issue with this one was the mounting tang being in the only location that won't work...

Hi,

Not today per say but the other day i sprayed my gas door hinge and associated latch. It was stuck one day when i went to get gas so i figured i better do it. Maybe someone here knows how to open the gas door when it gets stuck.

While at that, i did the hood hinges and latches because they can be a pain sometimes too.

Installing a MAC solenoid in my 95 850.

Best car I've ever owned - well worth the effort to keep it alive. Usually, the maintenance intervals are so long that I forget what I did last time and have to get out my notes.

Once this thing hits 400,000 - THEN I'll buy a new car.

Finally got a CD magazine for my SC901 along with a new-to-me dipstick. My old one was held together with super glue and the stick was rusted (also grabbed it from Pull a Part) so it was nice to find a clean dipstick that was still orange and not totally faded!

Vaccum line to the bypass valve got blown off during the heat yesterday. Suddenly only had half power.
After I fixed it (added some clamps) It pulled better than before. Maybe it was a bit loose for some time..
Luckily a quick and rewqarding fix

two things in the last week for my 1999 s70 base.

1) finally replaced the burned out bulbs in my radio
Much better now.

2) replaced the low pressure hose for my power steering pump. I had replaced the reservoir a few months ago and the old hose wasn't making a good seal on the new reservoir. A new hose seems to have cured the slow leak I was having. I hate dealing with power steering fluid (ATF in this case) . It drips and spatters everywhere. It's such a mess.

I hate dealing with brake fluid! I replaced the seals in my rear calipers today. It was a bit of a pain to get the other piston out, as when you apply air, the one shoots out fairly easily, then the other can't get enough pressure to push out. I eventually got them both out and replacement was straightforward.
I also hate bleeding brakes (also goes along with the brake fluid thing)! Took three tried to get the brake pedal tolerable for me. Now, they feel better than ever. Well, as good as they'll get with my cheapo Centric brakes from Rock Auto. Bleeding them takes a few times to get it right. I like a very firm brake pedal. I regularly drive "spiritedly," it's necessary.

No my own car/S60. I was maniacal and didn't waste much time getting a spare key made.

Sis did it to herself this morning - warming the car up - she came back in the house and accidently locked herself out of her XC90 with the key in the ignition. She keeps the remote fob in the house just in case of a lockout. But that doesn't help you if the car is running.
Successful/no damage. Killed the engine by clamping the rubber line after the fuel filter. That was easy. As was 3 minutes with google for the method. The hard part was scrounging around items on hand for a bendable adequately rigid rigid push "stick" that was long enough.
I sacrificed one of her flowerpot hangers.
I didn't really try the coat hanger (improvised slim Jim) method. Well I did, but spent about 5 minutes on it until deciding that wasn't going to work without knowing the size/length of the "J" bend and exactly how to orient it.
