You get two oetiker that fit, put a spare one on, and if you need to replace the bottle you cut 2 cm off the hose to remove, then reclamp, for the win

The problem with the worm drives; is that in smaller diameters they do not pull round when clamping which often leads to leaks, if not immediately sooner than later down the line. If you can find fuel pipe clamps they are usually better at smaller diameters. As the captain recommends, cutting a short piece of the pipes gives you clean rubber clamping which will seal better.

Yes, I agree on the small worm drive clamps. I might actually have a fuel injection clamp in my stash. Thanks for mentioning that.

It's a nasty rainy cold day outside.... anyone know where I can get some motivation to do the job???

A bit late, but if I tell you we are supposed to get snow 2-3" of snow on Monday and below 0C most of the week with chances of snow every day, does that make it feel better?

I at least got the 'R' wheels and storage tires on today before going for my Covid vax. We then did the 3 car juggle to get the R to the back of the garage and the 2 others at the front. Now I will have to clean the R's summer rims and put them away on the storage racks, end then get the XC70's winter rims on before Monday.

Got to love fall in Canada!

Today I replaced the right taillight circuit board on my 1987 240. The common ground had worn at the master connection and none of the RH lights worked. The design is not very robust and I still have a bad connection at one light socket.

Man, that is a blast from the past! I remember that issue from 30 years ago (sold my last 240 - an 85 in 88). It had this issue with rear light connections even then! Our 06 XC70 also has had issues with the rear lights melting the holders and needing to be reworked to get them working again.

It was 70 and sunny here today... nice change! It was rainy and cold yesterday.

Oh yes... 240 taillights. My cousin has had his '91 for 3-4 years now, and it has always had taillight issues. Even after the previous owner rewiring them.

IPD has replacement after market 240 rear light circuit boards that are marked USA. They are under $30 US, but the fit is not great. This is what I used today. My tail light housing does not have good socket grip. It was modified by mice years ago.

Finished up the 1700/mi trip to SC to visit family in the 855, Averaged about 27mpg in "travel mode" (Thule cargo pod on top) for the trip and had no issues.

There is a list of things to do on the car, due to just general wear-and-tear though. Need to replace the control arms, as I noted that the ball joints were more "free" (not loose) when I did the DS axle. Front brakes need gone through. The rotors seem slightly warped (light pulse under braking). Noticed that we do need new tires on it. The current ones on the Perfos are getting a bit worn. Will probably throw some new tires at the Perfos, but I'd like to get 17's back on the car. Need to scope out a couple replacement Neptunes and new tires for that set of wheels as well, though.
