Volvo V70R hard steering
Well I came across a dime of a car on facebook market place but she came with some flaws. Traveled on down to maryland after a 6 hour car ride to pick this V70R up. It has some flaws but nothing major. Something I cannot stand is the hard steering, I want to say it’s the clock spring but all the control work and the horn works. But something I hear is a clicking noise when i turn the wheel and then when it gets into a certain position it’s super easy to spin around. It has the chasis light up and im not sure if that would be a problem. Can someone please point out the obvious to me, there’s power steering, car isn’t leaking and isn’t rough just god awful steering which is giving me a forearm workout.

I had hard notchy steering. It ended up being the lower steering U-joint and the steering rack were both bad. Spray some PB blaster on the lower u joint and see if that frees it temporarily. Replace immediately if that’s your problem because a bad one can cause the pinion seal to fail and that’s a new rack.

Much of my time during the job is spent hauling things up and down the stairs to the basement or in and out of the storage shed, or running back downstairs when I realize I need something else,or taking a break from standing out in the sun,or using flashlights or work lamps when it gets dark.
