Hello
I have a s80 2011. Before buying it the steering was heavy so they replaced the power steering pump and it was fine . 2-3 months later it came back very heavy and would loosen when driving .
After checking again the pump went bad and was replaced . Went fine for 2 months and now again i can feel it started failing as the steering is becoming heavy. Not as heavy as it was first time though. Any thoughts why would this happen twice ? Or it is just a coincidence
Do i need to change other parts ?
Thanks

The Reservoir has a filter built into the bottom of it.
You should replace the reservoir.
The Land Rover Freelander II shares a lot of parts with the Volvo S80.

For my 2010 S80 3.2 here is the correct part
Power Steering Pump Reservoir - Volvo (31302576)
I don't know what Engine your 2011 S80 has
If you don't mind getting your parts in a LAND ROVER box then you can buy LR000578.
This should be the same part as 31302576
For my 3.2 the Engine was built at a FORD factory in the UK and I have the same Engine in my 2008 LR2 (Freelander II in Europe) and in my 2010 S80. So I interchange parts like this based on cost (I buy it from the less expensive source, or the faster source)
I have no ide what is easy to get where you live
Post which Engine you have and I will try to search more
Take care

Thanks a lot Paul
I actually ordered the landrover one as it was cheaper! I buy them online based on price as well whichever has better price
The engine is 2.0 turbo
I got confused with the power steering pump number and do not want to order a wrong part as it is not a cheap part !
Again thanks for the help much appreciated

Check your original reservoir
My Land Rover has
6G91-3R700-XX (XX for LR2 is AB)
(XX For my Volvo it looks like BC, note it is dirty)
As far as I could tell they are the same dimensionally
Good luck

I don't know about the 2011 Volvo S80 2.0T (Petrol not Diesel correct?)
I can easily look up the part number for my 3.2 but the 2.0T wasn't available in the US for 2011
Do you know if the engine is shared with other FORD / LAND ROVER / JAGUAR vehicles?
What part number did you install (or get installed) for the power steering pump that is in there now?
Sorry I can't be more helpful
