Compatible 2013 contactless ETM for older S70?

In other parts of this site someone mentioned replacing an old ETM with a contactless 2013 ETM. This would be great as the PnPs in my area don't care what the specifics of the part you pull, just the general label that it is an ETM for about 30 bucks.

Does anyone have a compatibility list for newer to older cars. I have a 1999 S70-GLT (2.4L) engine. Would any 2.4L, 5 cylinder 2013 ETM let's say from a S60 work on this older car? Would the VIN need to be programmed into the ETM?

The newest version apparently has software that works with both turbo andNAcars.

So far , I am 3/3 with a drop in replacement with no software.

What does 3/3 mean in this context? You have the part, but not the software and thus can't use it?

3 installed later ETMs. 3 successful installs with no software needed

Will these drop into a 2001 v70, or is it just <2000 ?

The Magneti Morelli style Electronic Throttle Module was only used on 1999,2000 models (up to 2004 for the C70) and more models in EU, like LNG cars.

A 2001 in North America will use the Bosch Electronic Throttle Actuator, it’s a completely different technology, all together
