Sporadic Position Light Warning Solution

Post by velorider »

This is the second s60 I had where the position light warning would go off and on. The first, I fixed by replacing the light bracket with a replacement from the junk yard. Then my T5 started experiencing this problem, so I feel it's probably a common issue.

The solution was to bend the ground tabs of the socket slightly to make better contact with the bulb. The ground tabs are the ones on the side, there are 2 per socket. The position lights are the 2 smaller sockets. The metal is soft and easy to bend with a pick. This seemed obvious once it figured it out but didn't see any posts regarding this solution.

Thought I'd share in case someone else is have sporadic position light warning messages.
