2007 Volvo wagon XC 70

I posted earlier but I’m hoping that it got put on here anyhow I have a 2007 cross-country all-wheel-drive Volvo wagon XC 70 it’s having major brake issues the dealership is telling me that it may need a break vacuum but they said there’s no way to check it without taking the whole car apart so I’m kind of concerned about all that to be honest Also it’s at 170,000 miles what kind of maintenance is to be done at 170,000 miles? It’s going up there tomorrow so I’m definitely get in the oil change and should that be a full or part synthetic or just whatever Volvo dealership thinks?

When I look online I don’t see anything that tells me what maintenance should be done at 170,000 miles please help

Do you have any idea as to how it was cared for in previous life?

At 170k

Transmission fluid change, no flushing

Pcv system evaluation, servicing

Coolant and brake fluid change ( leave thst for other thread)

Are first up.

I have only had it around six years I’ve taken very good care of it but brakes are down to the floor they keep telling me that brakes are OK but they’re not now they’re saying it could be a vacuum brake thing or some thing I have no idea what that even means it’s going there it’s on its way going there now to dealership

Ok very sorry, I have Some health issues + vision issues so it is much much easier for me to use voice to text I apologize again.

While the car is at the dealership now and I am here in a local hotel they finally said that they think it is the master
Cylinder so they had to order it it won’t come in until Wednesday also it needed another part something the left side mount or something I’m not sure I’m so upset with all of this the bill is coming to over 3/$4000 I don’t know why it would be so darn much They said the master cylinder is very expensive so is the other part and I guess the labor to put it in also.

Also my inside rearview mirror is cracked but they say you can’t order just a mirror,

You have to order the whole piece and that mirror a piece is $575,

And that is before labor.

Master cylinders are not expensive and there's not a lot of labor to replace them...

What's the other part?

The rearview mirror is expensive if the whole thing is replaced because the UEM electronics with auto dimming is inside and it needs software too. Only the crack mirror could be replaced with a salvage yard part but this would have to be a DIY job, the dealer would never do this type of repair.

Oh thank you so much I’ll find out what the other part is and I will let you know what the part might not be expensive of the brake one the master cylinder but I guess when you’re getting it from the dealership and they’re putting it in it comes to be a life I’m not mistaken it’s over $1000.

And yes that’s what they said about the mirror it only comes in that one piece and the mirror will come to $1045 the price of it and that includes the installation

OK I went to that website and the shows the master cylinder being almost $500 so I guess that price plus the labor that’s probably wide coming to so much
