Transmission Issue as follows:

1-Accidentally shifted the transmission from "D" Drive into Reverse "R" while moving forward at approx. 20 MPH.
2-Engine immediately shut-off.
3-Shifted back into Neutral "N" and coasted to a stop.
4-Shifted into Park "P" and restarted the engine.
5-Shifted into Drive "D" and all seemed back to normal.
6-After arriving at my destination. Tested out the transmission to see if any damage had occurred. Transmission
shifted into Reverse "R" but would not engage to back-up.
7-Engine would rev-up put no movement back.
8-Checked fluid level and all was topped off per normal. No noticeable metal filings in the fluid.

Any pertinent thoughts on what the issue may be? Torque converter, PNP Switch or solenoid have come to mind.

I am no transmission expert, but you have probably broken the reverse gear. Hopefully someone with more knowledge of these transmissions will chip in. There was another thread on a similar issue recently. Can't recall if it was in the P2 or P80 section.

My mistake, it was in the P2 section and it was a manual trans that lost reverse gear.
