I acquired a junkyard clockspring from a 98 or 99 s70 and have followed the amazing “how to”write up.
I have hit a road block as my original vs junkyard parts have a different color large clip at the base of the clockspring. This is not the small clip that attaches to the airbag. The original female 2 pin clip was green, my junkyard part has a slightly different style female 2 pin clip in orange. All else with these clockspring appears identical.
I was thinking about modifying the male portion of the clip coming from base of steering wheel (also green) to allow it to connect to the new orange clip. Clips have 2 pins.
User ASG1986 encountered a similar problem and was able to work around it but I could use a few more details.
Has anyone done this? Will it work? Thanks!

Robert DIY Spinner specifically calls out this difference in his Youtube repair video about SRS errors and advises pulling the exact same clock spring from the PnP with matching color connector for repair purposes.
