Spare tire question.

This is an odd question: 2013 S 60 no spare tire. I have to go on a long trip in two days. Will the spare tire of my 2006 XC 70 fit the s60 if I need a spare? I don’t want to travel without a spare tire.

I went through the same exercise on our 2018 S60. I went out and purchased a spare at the Volvo wrecking yard.

I would suggest you compare the outside diameter of the XC spare to that of the tires on the S60. You want it to be as close to the same diameter as possible so that it doesn’t cause issues with the differential if used on one of the front positions - not such a big concern on the rear end of a FWD car.

I would also actually try mounting the spare on the S60 to make sure it clears the brake caliper. If it clears on the front end (larger rotors) then you can assume it will work on the rear.

If all is well then throw it in the trunk and leave one suitcase at home, lol.

The 2006 XC 70 spare tire is a T135/90/17 The 2016 S60 spare tire is a T125/80/17, 2.2 " difference in circumference.
If you use the spare like your suppose too ... no more the 50 mph and go straight to the nearest place to get the regular tire repaired you should not have any problem.

And check pressure in spare once in a while
