Thanks, abscate, a useful video. However, as the camera shakes about a bit in parts of it, volvosweden does a good video and goes through the manual method which I used initially when I bought my v70 P3 some 4 years ago. Just recently I was unable to remove one of those T30 bolts on the side of the motor and used the battery method (far easier) which is listed in this video by FCP Euro . It describes these 2 methods as well as the scan tool whose cost may well be uneconomic for most DIYers. Hopefully this will encourage others who are a little frightened of "Electronic Parking Brake" to tackle their own repairs.
