2002 S60 base- Ac comes on when should be off

2002 S60 base- Ac comes on when should be off

My 2002 s60 base model and without auto climate control - when driving the ac is switched off, but keeps turning it self on. I cut it off and soon it is back on. any ideas? Now that it is cooled off - I don't need AC in the winter with a mind of it's own.

turn the windshield defroster off.
