05 s60r automatic no forward gears

So I am looking at picking one up that has no forward gears working although reverse does work. Wondering if something with the angle gear could cause this or if it's transmission related. It has about 160k on it.

If you have reverse but no forward gears it's very likely the C1 forward clutch in the transmission. It's either slipping very badly or not engaging at all, either way the transmission would have to pulled out repaired/rebuilt. There is a C1 pressure tap that could looked to determine if it's a fluid pressure problem when C1 is engaged.
