I was driving home from work as usual and traveling around 45 mph on back roads. I suddenly felt a loose and wandering feeling in the steering like a bad ball joint or really worn control arm. It seemed like it was coming from the left front wheel, like it was pulling left. I pulled over and looked over everything and didn't see anything obvious. Then when I got going again, I had the same symptoms. Now upon breaking, I felt the ABS releasing, where it normally wouldn't. I'm wondering if the ABS control module could be acting up and causing this. I had issues with it in a P80 Volvo before. The symptoms went away completely and now it felt totally fine for the rest of the ride home (25 mins or so). Any ideas?

Thanks,

Feld

It could be a wheel sensor or tone ring problem triggering the ABS. You can see data for this in VIDA or a good scanner

I need to scan it. I'll do it today. This is what happens when your check engine light is always on due to an aftermarket cat.

Thanks for the help.

I think salt may have gotten on the ring or the sensor and it was triggering the ABS. Maybe. When this happened, they had just put a whole bunch of salt on where I was driving. I'll scan later hopefully.
