Rear spoiler brake light 97 850r

Hey, does anyone know if it's possible to find a replacement for the red light cover/reflector for the rear spoiler brake light on the 850r's? Mine has broken and is missing a piece and it really bothers me. I have done some googling and had no luck, I did find the diagram on the Volvo OEM parts catalog but there isn't a part number listed. Is this part a case of trawling junk yards? Or is there somewhere else to find this?

For reference, I'm talking about the number 35 in this diagram.

Well I guess this part is as hard to find as it seems. Junk yard find it'll have to be!

Which version of spoiler stop lamp do you have? There seems to be about 3 or 4 versions. I have linked a Volvo parts website which has the variants. I think yours is Alternate #4 but I'm not sure:

Part # 10 is available but I don't think you have that. Here is a link for that one on eBay:

I think yours might be part #34 on the drawing which is part # 9124936

Hey thanks for the reply - So on the drawing above I have part assembly #34. I think that the part number you have listed seems to be the right one, although it does seem to also return the #10 part too when I google it. I can't seem to find anywhere with that part in stock, it's all listed as discontinued.

Yep just found that one too. I'll shoot them off an email - my brother is visiting from the UK soon so if that's the real deal I'll have him get it for me. Thanks for the help.

Finding hard stuff is a fun exercise for me. Owning a 2000 V70R means trying to find many obsolete parts, especially on one year R specific parts like the back brakes, and AWD parts like bushes in the rear subframe.

I quite enjoy the challenge too. This one is really stumping me though. I did find a very questionable Russian site listing it for sale too. Not sure I want to order a part from a site not even google can translate though! Ha!

For what it's worth, I had to replace this piece on my '96 R, and discovered that it is the exact same as the non-R piece used on facelift 850s with the spoiler. I easily found one at the local Pick-N-Pull.

Not even sure we can order from a Russian site financially either?

You might want to try Chapman Motors on Vancouver Island in Canada. They part out Volvos and sometimes have hard to find parts.

It's a long shot but worth a try, as is Erie Vo-Vo on the East Coast near NYC.
