Hello everyone,
I have bought a 2018 S60 T5 at 98K miles (my first Volvo, had 2 BMWs before as used European cars). Car had a check engine light when I scanned with the code P0017 so I thought I can fix it without too much difficulty. The car had a rough sound on load (during acceleration). Obviously I was wrong. First thing I changed the oil and filter and I saw a plenty sludge in it. Thereafter, I took it to a specialty shop (as the local repair shop “well known” couldn’t identify the root cause of the problem), and the Indy shop did not give a clear explanation about the code cause.
After searching online, I changed VVT solenoid intake side. After connecting the battery, it didn’t show up the error during my 5 mins drive to a gas station. I turned off and on the car after 2-3 mins and the engine light came back with the same code. I use Bluedriver OBD scanner.
Now, has anyone experienced the same problem? I never done a timing adjustment before if it is the case. But do you have any idea to check possible places in an order? My battery also frequently gives low battery warning. I m not driving the car as I don’t need it daily.
Thanks in advance.
