loss of boost after lines replaced 95T WAGON

I took my car in for a groaning noise. The mechanic found a leaky vacuum line and disconnected it. The most of the noise immediately went away and the boost was really maxing out. When he replaced the line, the boost only kicks about half way in the white and the car doesn't haul ass like it did when the vacuum line was noisy or disconnected. What could explain the loss of boost after the bad line was replaced.

It's possible that the leaky line was the line to the wastegate or boost controller and that with it leaking or missing the engine was not able to limit boost, causing higher than stock boost levels.

Also possible you got the turbo lines mixed up. This has been sited over and over as a reason for lack of boost after these hoses are replaced.
