  • Various blemishes, some putty used to prevent rust in various places
  • Driver's door check strap broken
  • Seats are good, comfort level: high
  • Steering is a little "heavy"
  • Dash squeaks
  • SC-816 (?) needs main display backlight bulb(s?), and sounds better than my 2017 VW's radio(!)
  • Electric seat controls on driver's side, passenger side is manual, lumbar is manual knob twist on both sides
  • new tires :)
  • new-ish oil: 700 miles on it
  • new air filter
  • needs spare: it's probably the original tire
  • needs 2nd key
  • needs plates, probably emissions test to get 'em
  • Insurance (minimum) will be about $44/month
I think I'll use it as a 2nd daily driver car.

Vs. daily driver, a 2017 VW, gauges at night are just as good... illumination and readability are very good. Radio is better in the V70. Seats are a little more comfortable in the V70, as I'd expected. Engine sounds: Volvo wins!

Wow looks like it is in very good shape. How much did you pay for it?

I see the drivers side mirror is a different color than the passenger side. My drivers side mirror has paint worn off somehow, i got paint for it have to do it this spring.
I’ve been driving a Volvo long before anyone ever paid me to drive one.
That's probably because I've been driving one since 2015 and nobody has offered to pay me yet.
1998 v70, non turbo, FWD, base model, on the road from April 2nd, 2015 to July 26, 2023.

Hi Matt,

WOW, you are very lucky my friend.

When i see pictures of this car i see how beautiful they look. It also makes me wonder what kind of paint job do they use on these cars? The paint seems to shine forever or something. Some neighbors of mine noticed that too. 25 years old and still shines pretty much like new.
Do they do some kind of clear overcoat or something?

Long exposure to the extreme sun of the southern states will ruin the clear coat. These conditions are rare in Sweden.
