2008 Volvo XC90-V8 Engine Air Box Air Inlet

How is everybody doing today? I'm doing good and thanks for asking. We have a 2008 Volvo XC90 V8 model that we purchased a few years back and she has treated us well, so we try to treat her well in return. The engine air box has an Air Intake hose or the factory term would be an Air Inlet PN# 30680296.

The Air Inlet tube presently installed to the factory Air Box doesn't exactly snap into place with the air box flange. The Air Inlet flange is the right size with the flange locking tabs in the right location, but the air inlet tube doesn't reach all the way into the air box flange. Not being the original owners, we have no clue if this item was replaced at some point and possibly sourced from a used 1stgen XC90. I'm wondering if a 1stgen XC90 2.5 liter and the 3.2-liter Air Inlet was sourced instead of a 4.4-liter Air Inlet was sourced. Does anyone know if the 2.5 liter or 3.2-liter Air Inlet was slightly shorter in length where the Air Inlet to Air Box connect?

My Sport clicks in, Ocean Race is in but not fully seated (does not click). I try and reseat probably every time I pop the hood and look down but there's always a slight gap. It's just the air intake so I don't worry much about it since the both sides of the interface are normally mounted so there's no play per say at the joint. Can order a new snorkel but it might be tolerance on the airbox. Is there a T5 nut holding the box to the fender or does it move freely? That might be an area to check. Volvo PN is 981494 but you'll find it cheaper in the open market.
