Replace the fuel pump on C70 2007

Post by tango_1000 »

My 2007 C70 have 140.000 miles on it. The problem started few weeks ago, it will fail to star, which never ever did before. So I replace the relay, and check other fuses, and fuel pressure sensor, everything it's ok, But I don't hear the pump working when I first insert the key and put in contact, so I'm assuming must be the fuel pump. My question is how to get to it in my C70. I think it must be behind the back seat. If it is there, anybody can tell me how to remove the back seat, no the bottom part but the back. Thanks

Thank you. I didn't work on mine, is a 2007 .To remove the seat backrest I found there is a clip on the top middle of each seat. Put a bar from the center and press towards you. Unfortunately the pump is not there

I’d check the parts fiche, wonder if you need to drop the fuel tank to get at it.

Searching Volvo P1 fuel pump, looks that way.

Kronos, thank you, nice your C30. Well, I thought the fuel pump could be under the seat, wrong big time, and it's a pain to take the tank down, especially if after I figure if that was not the problem. Do you or someone here know please how to check the cable that brings power to the Fuel Pump Control Module. I'm attaching a pic of the connector. I would like to check this first and see if I get power to the module. Definitely the pump is not making the click noise it should when I turn the ignition.
Also, and in case I need to replace the pump, is there any specific measurement to where cut that panel you cut in your C30 to access the pump?
Thanks to everyone

Not my video so I can’t speak to where to cut. If it was me I’d let my local independent shop have a go as I’d be concerned with a convertible to lose any structural rigidity with cutting.

I don’t have VIDA but maybe someone else on the forum here has that to tell what the voltages should be.

There's no access to the fuel pump underneath the backseat.
To make matters worth, you can't easily cut an access hole because the fuel pump is UNDER the structural support.
