Ohh - I just read apparently based on this new Smart platform, as Geely also owns Smart now (I didn't know this, I thought it was a Mercedes). Hopefully it looks better than this.

Looks like Smart (Maybe only electric Smart?) is a now a joint venture of Geely and Mercedes. Early in the Smart car development, Swatch (yes the watch people) joined with Mercedes.

I had not realized Smart was last marketed in US in 2019.

I'm really in favor of smaller. I just read a list of the 15 lightest EV's available today, and they range from 4400 lbs for the Mach E to 3100 lbs for the Kia Niro. And those are the light ones! The poor Bolt at 3600 lbs and $26,000 has just been cancelled.

I read that the ridiculous Hummer EV weighs 9000 lbs (because RAGE!) and gets worse mileage than a Malibu, just farther up the fuel chain.

Also...isn't a "subscription" what we used to call a lease? You don't actually own anything.

A lease may be the smart way to own an EV. US credits are better for a lease on many EVs because purchase credits have more restrictions on location of manufacture of car and battery.
Also, a lease avoids worry about battery replacement cost and value of the vehicle in few years.

You own the car payment book.

Horrible way to pay for transportation.
