Will a later model ABS pump motor fit a 2006 S60?

Post by KyDave »

My ABS light has been on (it turns off in very cold weather) and it shows error codes BCM0070 and 0072 which I'm reading is usually lack of power to the motor or a bad motor.

I'd hope to avoid another 18 year old motor and more recent ABS unit's motors look the same. Are they interchangeable? What years or models? If the ABS block looks the same is the motor the same?

EDIT: I was told of these codes by an ex-dealership Volvo specialist who changed the timing belt. His response was "it's usually the control module at the bottom of the ABS" and hadn't heard of changing a bad motor. A cracked solder joint in the module -could- cause my warning to go away in cold weather - like when it was 20F. Any thoughts?

Yeah I think they should be interchangeable and the part number might be about when and where they were made. It would be nice to get the same number, but the job isn't really hard if you have to go at it again. You definitely should make a that copper holder that someone wrote about somewhere in this forum.

Have you tried looking the part number up on one of the Volvo dealer part sites? You may find the part numbers have been amalgamated as Volvo often does over the years. If you check for your car and then look at the what is this used on on the pages, you may find it is the same.
