Headlamp lens restoration and Oil question- Two separate topics in one!

2006xc70 Two unrelated questions:
First- Headlight restore- I have all the equipment to restore my lenses, but what should I put on the lens after I have cleared all the fog away from them? How do I minimize return of the 'clouding'? My wife said that there is a clear film to apply on the lens, I have heard of waxes, etc.

Second: I use Mobil One for the past 10 years. Car has 116K miles. What is the Formula for high milage? Should I change over? Any feedback on Kirkland brand, can I switch over at that brand?

I don't feel that 116k is high mileage on a Volvo engine. I have asked this very thing and what I've learned is the high mileage oils merely swell up engine seals to reduce external leaks. I'd continue using a high quality oil you like.

You need UV-resistant clear coat. Sylvania headlights restoration kit has one, but it is not very durable. I had to redo everything every 6 to 12 months when was driving a lot of miles.

You can get a 2k clear coat for headlights that will last a long time. Most of the wipe over stuff does not last all that long.
