Axle part numbers?

How can you tell the axle part number that you need? The label on original axles have numbers that I don't see in VIDA. I may need to shop for a used axle so want to be sure it is what I need using a number on it.

Does anyone know the part number printed on the label of a 2000 V70 FWD NA 5-speed auto front left axle? Is the front left axle from a 1999 4-speed compatible with a 2000 5-speed?

I checked VIDA for this specific car. It lists the front right axle as 8602610, replacing 8251761 (8601579). My front right axle label says P9445904 and T990621. There are also some obscured numbers at the bottom which include ... 15 14 77 046. I don't see a match between VIDA and the label. VIDA says my front left axle is 8602609, replacing 8251760 (8601578). The axle currently installed has no label and I suspect it's aftermarket.

My front left CV joint feels horrible and I can't get a replacement reluctor ring installed, so it might be best to replace the axle with a used one if I can identify it. Thanks for your help.

The RH axle I recall replacing on my 2000 V70 5 speed auto about 5 years ago. Even then it was rocking horse poo rare. I found the only one listed in North America at Erie Vo-Vo and UPS managed to damage it in transit. Also the support bearing was shot. I am fairly busy tomorrow, but I may have a RH axle but I'm not sure. I will check.

Volvo for some reason kept changing the axle part numbers, but the V/S 70 from 2000 were only two of 3 models along with the V70R sold with that transmission. Forgot about the 2000-2004 C70 which according to IPD also used the same axles

I don't have my Vida just now but will try to help ID this for you.

LH Axle looks like 8251760: (there are superseded numbers on IPD website link below):

I believe the S/V70 2000 years are the same, but as the C70 was a turbo I'm not sure about the axles. Volvo sites are wrong as they list 99 year models which is wrong.

It's a 2000 V70 auto LH axle that I need. I going to look for one locally so won't need it shipped from Canada. Thanks though.

I suppose if I pull it at a junkyard from an identical car to mine, then I'm very likely to get the right part.

Hopefully! I will check all the same. I think it might need a center bearing (removed) but I have a spare one somewhere for it (aftermarket).

I'll confirm, and then you know there is a worst case scenario backup plan!
