Just noticed this after stopping for gas on the highway. Is this safe to take another 200km or should I return to home base!

Driver side bolt gone

When I bought my V70R in 2017, I has to replace the bolt because it was missing on one of the front wheels. i must have driven 400 to 500 miles before I noticed. I saw no ill effects.

I cannot tell you its ok to drive like this, the inner CV joint is retained by a circlip so it will not come out of the transmission. If I had to move a vehicle that's missing the bolt on the outside of the CV shaft I would certainly minimize turn radius', particularly at speed. I would probably do it.

Made it over safe and sound. Will get my Indy to replace in the morning. I think that bearing was bad anyways so no I’ll effects as other said. I was getting abs issues on that side at one point and wonder if this had anything to do with it :/.

I recall watching my Indy take these apart before and know there is a bolt at the bottom that holds the hub in the strut. Point being it won’t come out I believe.

abs sensor was moving out of range with the tone wheel in the bearing hub.
So it does move.
Lost one of mine too, $4 fix.

Just spoke to my indy and he said that the bolt missing can cause ABS errors to occur before i mentioned ABS issues happening so i guess that confirms my suspicion. Will get the new bolt in with a few other items.
