My 2016 v60 has lately had problems seeing the two keys that I have. I've replaced the batteries in both of them, but occasionally they aren't recognized by the car. This occurs when unlocking the vehicle, opening the trunk, starting the car, and even at times while driving it will say "key removed from vehicle". The big problem is that this behavior is erratic and occasional. I've had it in to the shop (not dealer) several times, and they've done a few things that appeared to work, but the fix was only temporary. They said it was a key problem, so I bought a key online, but it's not a factory key and I can't get it programmed anywhere. A key shop told me they have to tear the car apart to program the key!
Any ideas? Or should I just sell the car?

It depends on case. If you go to official dealer, it this case not need to disassemble your car. They will get all codes from server by official software.
If it aftermarket solution, yes, sometimes they extract needed data directly from modules, as soon as they get it, next step is program the key same method like dealer.
If your car has Keyless Go system, need to get data from 2 modules, if no Keyless Go system, just 1 module.
