P80 water pump date code stamp

From previous experiences the AISIN / Volvo water pump date code is marked YY MM viewed with the arrow facing up

Useful when you have an ambiguous one line this, which is built in October 2008

On the new to me S70 I will need to pull the TB cover and take a look. The TB was done last year, but I don't have any records of what was changed in addition. The car has 143k on it and this would be the time that the waterpump is replaced. It should still look fresh and new if it was changed, but if it doesn't I can check the date code.

That unknown brand wrecked pump I pulled from the 96 850 also had a date mark similar to yours on it. I remember you pointing it out.

If your 1998 is late VIN it will have the mechanical tensioner and a 210k mile water pump

I still have to check the VIN, but I think it still is the old style. It's a very early 98' with a build date of 04/97.
