WTB, Volvo S70 Thule cross bar mtg feet

Post by 850 LPT »

Hello,

These are NLA new and I was wondering if anybody has a set of 4 laying around.
They should fit the old square style cross bars.

Thanks, Dirk

Dirk, can you post the bars you are looking for and the parts you need if you can. There is a car in a junkyard, but I think the roof rack was for a non-roof rail car. I need to check my garage as I think I may have only one rail for a roof rail car. The bar is 'tired' but the mounts may be ok. I will try to find it over the weekend. If I do I will post a picture to see if it is what you are looking for.

Should add, are they NLA from Volvo or Thule or both? If NLA from Volvo, a rack supplier may be able to find Thule ones.

Hi Neil, thanks for looking into this. I am actually looking for the cross bars and mounting feet for a non roof rail car, since mine is an S70. Unfortunately I cannot find any part numbers. Also, I have a set of rectangular cross bars that should be long enough. So what I really only need is the mounting feet.

So you are looking for a set with the little latch pin that locks into the door frame at the top.

OK. Then those were that type. Someone had modified them to mount a flat wooden sheet by drilling 2 holes either end of each bar.

If you are ok with that then if I get a chance I will go see what they charge for them. I know PnP charge around $35 CDN for a pair if I recall, but this is in another yard. I think that charge about the same.

Yes, I guess that's the correct type. I have never seen how they actually install. Since there are M6 holes in the top of the doorframe I was assuming that they would screw in somehow. But I can see how that would work with a pin that is perhaps pulled up.

I am going to look at a pair that I found locally this evening. If that falls through somehow I will come back to you. I will let you know either way.

Thanks again,

Dirk

Don't think those are Volvo/Thule, certainly not a version I have seen here. The feet look wider. Either way let me know how you get on. I may head to the junkyard for something else on Wednesday as it is the only cooler day this week (27C!).

Good luck locally with that set!

Hi Neil, the set I looked at yesterday was for a P2 unfortunately, and they are very different. So if you could take a look at that junkyard, I would appreciate it. If the feet are for the Thule rectangular bar, then I only need the feet. I have a set of those bars and it would be cheaper shipping just the feet.

Thanks, Dirk
