P2 valve stem seals (late P80-2016 Volvo cars)

Researching this, when Volvo transitioned from hydraulic to solid lifters, mid 1999, the valve stem seals change to accommodate the simultaneous change of valve stem from 7 mm to 6mm

Unfortunately I can’t find a part number for the cool kit for 20 Volvo 6mm stem seals so you have to buy 20 at the individual price of $7-8 each from Tasca or FCP

I tried two different Volvo dealer parts counters using the VIN for lookup and both said ten of each, giving me the part numbers in the post above.

However Skandix web site says just use 20 of 31316151, that they are all the same 6 mm valve seal and the other part number 9443787 is no longer necessary.

Both dealers said kits are not available for these P2 seals, you have to order them individually. One person even checked the shelf to be sure, because when there are kits they often stock just the kit but split it open to sell them individually.

I’m going with 10 of each since the 9443787 is currently on clearance markdown at FCP.
