On my home from work, while hitting 80mph on the interstate, my car made a horrible noise and almost felt like it was sputtering. the car runs and drives like normal, only happens every time i try to hit 80mph. any advice? I can't seem to ever get ahead on this car, basically has a new suspension system, new timing and components, new brakes and rotors, new fuel pump, new e3 spark plugs. absolutely no codes, and I need help. I cannot afford to miss work, nor can I afford a mechanic. I do all work myself

if you have a scanner or torque app then i would say we need some details such as fuel trims (Long term). I do not suspect transmission issues here given the speed. I know some cars are particular about sparkplugs and personally have never used E3. I would stick Bosch iridiums or ngk iridiums as they really are something you change every 100k km plus with the iridiums.
Try and describe or record the sound a bit more clearer. Are there any sounds that come up prior to 80 or does it happen right at 80. What is the mileage?

Agree 80mph seems strange, if you downshift one gear does the same symptom happen at same RPM?
I’d also ditch the E3s for something from FCPEuro for your car. Potential that could be an issue. New fuel filter with the new fuel pump?
ICarSoft Volvo scanner can be had on Amazon for $150 to read codes.

I own a Volvo capable scanner, absolutely no codes, has a new fuel filter, although the exact fit replacement was a good amount bigger then the old one but I was told that's not an issue ( correct me if I'm wrong). Car is an automatic with 160,000 miles. Upon inspection of the car, I checked CV axles ( someone told me to check and looks like one makes a good amount of noise, could that possibly be the issue? ( I'm not thinking it is) thanks all!

After driving again , I now don't believe it's a sputter, I really don't know what it is, whole car starts shaking like crazy and the car won't really accelerate when it's happening, I recorded a video of the dash when it happens, and a video of the live data on the scanner, I am uploading them as we speak. I'm suspecting transmission issues, but it's strange because going 60-70 it's fine, but 75-80 it's a mess, correct me if I'm wrong but that's all on the same gear is it not? If the gear was going wouldn't I always have issues in 5th? It doesn't feel like slipping at all, so not sure. Still zero codes even while it was happening I checked

Shift flare. Change the transmission fluid, or check fluid level.
When was the last time the fluid was refreshed?
It is fairly common on these transmissions with older fluids. You may be able to remedy it.
From the speed it occurred at i almost suspect low fluid as i had that issue in my 98 when i underfilled the transmission in my young late teens.
EDIT:
To answer your question, it probably dropped down a gear to accelerate then jumped back into 5th.
the 08 has a very active gearbox as in i am normally in 4th by 40-60kmh. She changes gear when shifting to have a bit better fuel economy is my theory.
