Fuel cap opening after shutdown of engine or ignition

Post by alexsmoore »

Hi All 👋

I’ve just bought a V50 D5 2008.

When I stop the engine and the fuel flap automatically opens, I’m assuming it’s not meant to do this and it’s a fault, but can’t seem to find anybody similar fault online, anybody in here come across the same issue before? 🙏

I ordered a new actuator and fitted but still the same. Got a multimeter on the connector and it seems to jump from around 9v to 11-12v a few seconds after the engine is switched off, like something is sending power down and causing the actuator to open about 5 seconds after the ignition is switched off

Also disconnected the switch module that has the filler release button to see if that was the issue, even with that disconnected it still does the same

Thanks in advance
