Oil Ooze from coolant tank - Oil Cooler bypassed :-(

Post by twm »

Hello to All

Newbie here - Love the xc90 but found oil in the expansion tank. I thought it was the cooler changed it and then bypassed it because I have the same issue.
Oil continuously floats out of the tank so obviously a leak somewhere, since I have the cooler bypassed I suppose it must be the head gasket??? - Unless there is another area oil can leak into coolant. When I did change the cooler I found an amount of coolant in the sump.

Any advice appreciated.

.
Not quite so much oil but that was the first thing that came to mind . How did you bypass the cooler? Did you check the dipstick to see if the oil is milky?
