98 S70 Radiator petcock

I know the radiator was replaced a long time ago. I'm having a real problem opening up the drain. It looks like plastic, like a wingnut so I'm using my hand and I'm afraid of breaking it as It's impossible to turn. (CCW right?). Anyway -- is there a trick to this?

I saw where the OEM radiator uses a 13mm socket but like I say this looks like the wing on a wingnut. -- thanks

The Nissens get s a quarter turn and then pulls down. If it doesn’t come, leave it and pop off the lower hose to drain

I'd suggest putting some silicone grease all over the threads and o-ring when/if you can get it out. Should make it easier to remove next time around.

I never fool with it. Just loosen the lower hose and " control " the draining from there.
