2001 280 2.9 problems after replacing crank sensor

I replaced my crankshaft position sensor today and the car fires right up but immediately dies. No response from accelerator at all. Won't run more than a couple seconds. My understanding is that there is a relearn procedure for these sensors but I had read that simply driving it at a steady pace for a bit would take care of that. Unfortunately I can't drive it even 1 ft. Any tips and/or tricks greatly appreciated
