2016 S60. Does the VVT gear need a new preload?
2016 S60. Does the VVT gear need a new preload?
I'm changing the timing belt on my 2016 S60. I have the tools, I've read the procedure, but I have one hitch. I removed the old belt before I got the cam gear locking tool. Now, with the tools that came in the mail, I can align the cam shafts using the cam shaft slots near the transmission, but do I somehow need to pre-load the variable valve timing gear before I lock down the tool holding the timing gears on the front of the engine? I see a procedure to do this on older cars, but I can't find a reference with the newer generation timing gears if I'm starting by aligning the camshafts first. Thanks for the help!
