1994 850 rally style lights

Post by Hsnow »

Hello! I have a 1994 850 turbo wagon, and I am looking around for options for rally style fog lights.
I've done some research, but so far have failed to find a mount similar to the one in the picture attached that would fit my 850. I live in an area with a lot of backroads and fog and I could use a lot more light at night. I also just think the rally style lights look really good on the 850 wagons, especially opposed to an led bar.

However in my somewhat brief research I have noticed that almost every light setup blocks the path of air into the engine. I know it may be trivial but I just think its a little silly to knowingly block the main path of air. I'm looking for a bracket kit, or some instructions on how to mount them lower on the bumper as well as recommendations on lights.

Thanks for whatever insight can be offered,
Hudson

From the picture...the only thing that is blocking air path is license plate.

There is a factory bar / bracket for the P2 and P3 wagons that bolts around the license plate mount. I don't know if there was one for the P80s.

Lower is better for fogs, but then they get bashed by rocks sprayed off truck tires.

Look to Nordic Climates and their Volvo boards.
That three fixture setup is a quite popular in
Scandinavian countries.

Thanks to both of you!
I'll do some digging in both of those areas and see what I come up with.

Thanks so much for the video! It will definitely be helpful as a reference down the road
It also has me thinking that I can probably make a mount myself. I've found some measurements on a Swedish website (https://www.extraljuskungen.com/install ... -210-225mm) that I think I could copy without too much trouble.
Either that or I'll go outside and attempt to come up with something.

Do they typically use two fogs and a driving lamp?
