Turn Signal Won't Automatically Shut Off - '98 S70

Post by io »

I'm having a problem with my turn signal not turning off when it's supposed to. After making a turn, the signal will not click off when the steering wheel returns to centre. I suspect there is something broken off inside the steering column. Does anybody know what I should check or how I can fix this. It's getting annoying to have to manually shut it off each time.

Thanks for your help,
Nick

unlike some of the older cars.. there is nothing inside the unit you can really fix.. you have to remove the whole unit and replace it.

Not exactly true.
The clock springs can break and if you're resourseful sometimes it can be fixed.
If you DO need a turn signal unit, (complete), I happen to have one you can buy from me. ($50.00)

Thanks for the info JRL. Do you have any more information exactly how to fix the springs or know where I could find it. I would like to know what I'm doing before taking it apart. If worse comes to worse I'll try to figure it out.
