2008 XC70 need help with center control radio and hvac controls

Alright, I am totally new to this forum and new to this car I inherited from my sister when she passed away. What I do know so far is these are expensive to take to a volvo certified mechanic so I am hoping someone in here can help. My radio controls/ menu/ hvac controls and safety feature buttons all stopped working out of nowhere. The screen still lights up and displays the car image and the location of objects around it(when backing up or parking) but nothing else. The rest of the time it just is on but blank. Seeing as that its winter, the heater being out is not fun. I drive for work so this is kind of important to have this fixed. No front or rear defrost is definitely not good or safe. I checked the fused inside the car under passenger seat and they all look ok. Looking for any advice. I have searched online but havent found exactly what it might be or how to fix it. This is probably not the solution but an observation I had recently when exploring parasitic drain on my 2007 S80. I removed the fuse for the car alarm/siren and also lost the radio/HVAC controls. It was a fuse under the glove box (I think). Good luck.
