Hello,
My car has what I can best describe as an intermittent coolant leak. I will drive it without issue, park it for a few hours, and then return to a few cups of coolant by the right passenger tire.
I replaced the coolant reservoir (I felt some moisture beneath it, though not enough to explain the leak), added some UV dye to the coolant, and drove for a few days. Under the car, I found puddled coolant on the engine splash guard and almost nowhere else. Not the water pump and thermostat, as visible with the timing cover removed. Not around the head. The car also passes the fluid combustion leak test.
The one place I found leaking coolant was near the engine end of the upper coolant hose, though I didn't find an apparent leak in that hose. I found what looks like running coolant dye, as shown in the below pictures. I would have expected something more dramatic if the upper coolant hose failed.
Before I throw parts at the car, does this look like an upper coolant hose failure, or should I look for something else?
